About Me

Therapy isn’t about having all the answers - it’s about staying open to the messy, beautiful, and uncertain parts of life. I’m Dr. Aimee Hubbard, a Kansas City couples therapist, author, researcher, and AAMFT-approved supervisor.

I help couples and individuals reimagine their relationship with uncertainty, because growth often begins in the unknown. My work centers on helping people build authentic, secure, and emotionally rich relationships - where they can feel seen, accepted, and loved.

Whether through therapy, teaching, or writing, my goal is to make conversations about mental health and relationships accessible, grounded, and real. Welcome!

Therapists are taught to know things, but what if growth comes from not knowing?

Stay Confused is my upcoming book for therapists and mental health professionals about redefining our relationship to uncertainty. It explores the messy, evolving process of becoming a therapist, how mentorship, vulnerability, and discomfort shape us along the way.

Featuring insights from leaders in the field, this book is for anyone who has ever wondered, Am I doing this right? (Hint: There is no one right way.)

Relationships, whether with ourselves or others, are complex, beautiful, and deeply human.

If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward, therapy can help.

I work with individuals and couples in the Kansas City metro to navigate challenges, strengthen emotional connection, and create meaningful change.

I see clients in Kansas City at The Kansas City Relationship Institute (KCRI), where we focus on helping people build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
