Therapy with Dr. Aimee Hubbard

  • Relationships are both beautiful and challenging - and even strong couples can find themselves feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. In couples therapy, I help partners slow down, listen differently, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in the Kansas City metro, I specialize in helping couples navigate communication issues, rebuilding trust after infidelity, low desire, parenting transitions, and emotional disconnection. My work draws from the developmental model, experiential approaches, and systems thinking - helping couples uncover new ways to connect and grow together.

I take a trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming approach, honoring all identities and relationship structures, including LGBTQ+ couples and those exploring nontraditional relationship dynamics. My goal is to help you rediscover safety, intimacy, and joy - even when the path feels uncertain.

If you’re ready to begin rebuilding connection or deepening your relationship, I offer in-person and virtual sessions through The Kansas City Relationship Institute for couples located in Kansas and Missouri.

  • Individual therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, or relationship challenges, my role is to help you make sense of what’s happening and move toward meaningful change.

I take a curious, compassionate, and collaborative approach, that is rooted in the belief that growth comes not from having all the answers, but from learning to stay open to life’s uncertainties. My work integrates systems thinking, differentiation, attachment theory, and experiential methods to help you understand how your stories and patterns shape your present.

I work with adults of all backgrounds, and maintain a trauma-informed and affirming practice. Whether you’re healing from burnout, struggling with boundaries, or seeking clarity about the next step in your life, therapy offers a space to slow down and realign with who you want to be.

I offer in-person sessions in the Kansas City metro and virtual therapy across Kansas and Missouri.

  • Sexual connection is deeply personal, and when it feels off it can ripple throughout your relationship. As a sex therapist and couples therapist, I help individuals and partners explore sexual concerns with openness, compassion, and curiosity.

Common reasons clients seek sex therapy include differences in desire, sexual pain or discomfort, anxiety around intimacy, or major life transitions such as postpartum changes or menopause. In our sessions, we’ll move at your pace, blending evidence-based approaches with a warm, shame-free environment that supports healing and connection.

My approach to sex therapy is inclusive, affirming, and holistic — honoring all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship styles. I draw from systemic and experiential frameworks, integrating insights from research and relational science to help you better understand the connection between emotional intimacy, physical desire, and overall well-being.

Whether you’re seeking to reignite passion, rebuild trust, or simply understand yourself more deeply, sex therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore what intimacy can mean for you.
